Endoscopy
The endoscopy wing of Al-Razavi Hospital with an area of about 500 square meters is located on the ground floor, which has been operating since 2005 and is attended by specialists in the digestive system for adults and children and diseases of the digestive system and lungs. Therapeutic and diagnostic, and the most important ones are summarized as follows:
Al-Tanazir al-Alawi
colon secretion
Intestinal endoscopy (endoscopy and capsule)
ERCP
Analysis of bile vessels
Internal imaging (radial and linear)
Bronchitis
EBUS
Measurement of esophageal and esophageal pressure
pH scale
Upper endoscopy is a procedure that allows examination of the inside of the esophagus and stomach, the beginning of the small intestine, malignant tumors, removal of foreign bodies, and many other procedures.
Colonoscopy is a comprehensive procedure for examining the lower part or the entire digestive system and performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as resection of the tubercle, colon enlargement, stricture, malignant tumors, and hemorrhoids.
Intestinal endoscopy is a possible endoscopy procedure to examine the small intestine. In this method, an endoscope enters the digestive tract through the mouth or anus according to the doctor’s order, and with the help of a balloon placed on the endoscope, the device is used to enter the intestine and move narrowly, and in this way, it is possible to examine and treat small intestine bleeding and biopsy of the small intestine.
2. During the diagnosis of the endoscopic video capsule, the patient swallows a capsule equipped with a camera and the transmitted images are recorded for 12 hours from the mouth to the end of the small intestine and the recordings are made in the receiver connected to the patient: the doctor will examine you and the capsule will be rejected spontaneously after 24 hours.
ERCP is a method of examining the bile ducts, gall bladder, and pancreas using a contrast-enhanced contrast agent (all fellow nurses have a special contrast film). Includes diagnostic and therapeutic measures for pancreas, pancreatic tumors, bile ducts, and complications. Support and expansion of the duct, removal of gallstones and cysts of the bile ducts, and a sample can also be taken from the water hole of the ampoule.
Bile duct analysis and gallstone dissection If the gallstones are not removed through ERCP and normal methods, the gallstones are broken and then removed, and this is also possible.
Ultrasound imaging is a special method for examining the walls of the upper and lower digestive system, and with the help of this method, it is possible to obtain good ultrasound images of the organs located near the digestive system, such as the bile ducts, pancreas, lymph nodes, and other types of this system, both radial and linear, etc. The main difference between the two devices in terms of diagnostic ability is taking samples or needle aspiration and treatment, with the X-ray type it is used only to diagnose the lesions, but with the linear type it can also be sample taking (FNA). In the internal imaging of the heart, it is possible to examine mucosal and submucosal lesions in the digestive system for diagnosis and treatment, which is a cost-effective solution and has fewer complications compared to surgery. Treatment of benign tumors and tumors and cyst drainage is useful.
Bronchioscopy is a method of examining the internal part of the respiratory system (trachea – lung) and taking samples to diagnose respiratory system diseases, and includes diagnostic and therapeutic procedures of placing a stent in the bronchi without using radiation or radiation therapy.
EBUS: In this method, due to the ultrasound imaging, it is possible to perform a precise evaluation of the lung tissue, biopsy, and needle biopsy.
Esophageal pressure measurement: In this method, after anesthesia of the nasal passages while sitting on the edge of the bed, a thin and soft plastic tube is inserted through the nose into the esophagus and the pressure and amount of acid and bile secretions are evaluated. Swallowing disorders, intestinal acidity, pain when swallowing, pain in the chest, and conditions that help to find out the causes of chronic cough and hoarseness in the voice.
Anal pressure measurement: a procedure in which a thin plastic tube with a small balloon is inserted into the end of the intestine through the anus. In this test, the amount of muscle pressure and sensation inside the anus is measured, and in cases of constipation, faecal incontinence, and dysfunction in the pelvic floor muscles – defecation disorders.
